Miami Jan 9, 2013 — Pan Am International Flight Academy will be participating in the Global Pilot Career Conference & Job Fair being held in Miami Florida January 11-12, 2013, where airlines will be making presentations on their companies and holding job interviews for open pilot positions.
Fridays scheduled events are focused solely on large Commercial Jet opportunities, followed up by Saturday’s agenda including pilot opportunities in the Regional Jet market.
Along with world training leader Pan Am, airlines participating in the convention include: All Nippon Airways, United Airlines, Air China, Okay Airways, Skymark Airlines, as well as a half dozen others. Airborne Global, representing China’s Postal Service will also be interviewing candidates to fly mail routes there.
“Pan Am has been invited to participate to provide pilots participating in interviews with information and training options,” states Gregory Darrow, Pan Am International Flight Academy’s Senior Director of Sales and Marketing.  “We’re the bridge between the job applicant and the airline. Our job is to help these pilots complete any lacking certifications or training to close the gap and seal the deal. We’re also there to support the airlines, many of whom are our clients who we provide regular training for.”
Convention organizer FAPA (Future and Active Pilot Advisors) is anticipating a large crowd for this two day Job Fair. In recent years, there has been a shortage of qualified pilots, especially overseas in Asia where growth has outpaced training. The Chinese have sought to solve this problem by looking for qualified pilots in the U.S. who are willing to work abroad.
Pan Am recently returned from China as an official delegate of the U.S. Aviation Trade Mission seeking to build on the aviation business rapidly growing there. Headquartered in Miami Florida, Pan Am is one of the largest and most experienced pilot and airline training organizations, with its origins in Pan American World Airways. The company offers airlines and individuals training on over 60 full-flight simulators with courses for Pilots, Flight Attendant, Cabin Crew, ATC, Mechanic, and Aircraft Dispatchers.
Pan Am will be holding a drawing each day during the fair to award a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320 Type rating.  Entries forms and information can be found at the Pan Am booth. Winners will be able to choose between either fleet type.
